I once caught a cab in Belfast. The driver was adamant that the Titanic disaster had been faked, with the ship swapped with a sister ship which wasn’t up to scratch or something. Apparently that conspiracy theory is not uncommon there.

I hear this from time to time, despite it being easy to disprove. Titanic and Olympic had several noticeable differences between them, as documented during the construction, and can be seen on the wreckage today. I don't remember them all, but one of the easy to spot differences is how the bridge wings are shaped.

I thought that was part of the conspiracy, the wreckage had the differences

Edit: awwwww I always liked that one, it was way too easy for them to debunk with part registrations
