Having seen this after the change, I was really confused by his comment because they seemed the same to me. Then I read your comment

They're pointing to same URL
For me they are actually different images still.
I expected Lemmy to not keep the cached images when the URL changed but it appears not
that's odd, maybe it's the way Voyager (Lemmy mobile) works, here's a comparison:
