I really hope you are a TURF account, I would have more faith in humanity at that point, at least that person is doing something.
I didn't think you are. Your apathy, hate, and small world view combined with you ignorance in how bad situations can get and the privilege to think it can't happen to you is really sad.
If you are dead set on lying in bed and doing nothing, please do that and shutt the fuck up. Don't spread shit that only benefits the fascists just because you are to ideologically pure to do something.
I’m not lying in bed at all. Why do you need to edit my response to suit whatever nonsense point you need to make? If you’re going to participate in this, be on the level and stop with the straw man bullshit. If you have a problem with my perspective, argue against my perspective- not one you made up.
What I’m doing, is: simply saying that all these idiots that are crying about injustice and casting aspersions at everyone else… had their fucking chance to help stop this shit but they chose to feed their entitlement with a single issue refusal-to-vote protest.
And now that we have Trump- they all suddenly want to spring into action. Taking a moment to calling this bullshit out in no way indicates that I’m “lying in bed.” It just means that at the current moment- I’m on lemmy, calling out bullshit.
I sincerely hope I don’t need to explain to you that a person is able to do many things over the course of a few months.
My stand that there’s nothing they can be done is just pointing out that we are powerless to change what has happened. Trump is in. And no amount of yelling while holding signs will change that. You need the powers that be to intervene, and it’s the powers that be that are causing g the problem.
Essentially.. You can’t appeal to evil to stop evil.
But hey… if you want to storm the castle? Be my guest. Just know that it’ll be a bloodbath, and in the end, nothing will have changed. And if it should make you feel better, go ahead and use whatever historical bullshit that happened decades/centuries ago to use as an argument against this- rest assured though… things are very, VERY different now.
And no amount of tea tossed into a harbor will change that.
