I do think anyone on Lemmy is probably smarter than anyone on Reddit. I was browsing a conservative sub today and while they were very few comments, most of them disagreed with the general direction of the Trump administration.

I don't think user intelligence has as much to to with it as foreign interference and astroturfing campaigns, since its a larger platform

r/conservative is also notorious for shadow banning and banning anyone who expresses wrongthink. They've only got a few hundred real posters left. Everyone else is a bot or paid troll.

at least there are some of them here, i havent seen them yet whatsoever

(I even feel like its way more progressive but also more "radical/chaotics" here and there since the communities are still more niche and therefore weighting feels off)

would love to read some "frustration" every now and then to see how my facebook grandparents would argue for example, lol
