Aneurysm aside, good question. I wonder if I'd agree with their interpretation of what Jesus says and what that means for society, though.

This isn't aneurysm and is just poorly laid out mixed with old timey language.

Why call ye me "Lord", and do not the things which I say?

"Why call ye me Lord" is the same question verb/object ordering of when someone says "what say you?" ... "why do you call me Lord"

"Do not the things which I say" is just replacing "don't do" with "Do not." It's really weird in modern english. But you don't need a second do to make sense. Heck, the previous sentence didn't need a "do".. "You need not a second do" is a perfectly valid sentence, that's just not how colloquially we form sentences anymore.

But more to your point, anyone who has a sign this big on their car is probably more concerned about the time Jesus said "homosexuality is a sin" [citation needed], and less about the time he said "love thy neighbor" [Mark 12:31].

How does "LORD LORD" fit into your explanation?

But more to your point, anyone who has a sign this big on their car is probably more concerned about the time Jesus said “homosexuality is a sin” [citation needed], and less about the time he said “love thy neighbor” [Mark 12:31].

Exactly! At least in the US, christian groups are generally in favor of rightwing policies (they're decidedly to the left of certain 'conservative' policies here in Germany, e.g. immigration), which are clearly not in the spirit of Jesus. Sending immigrants to gulags isn't christian.

Thank you. Every single time I read a comment like this, I don't feel so alone. You get it.

I'm a Christian anarchist myself. There are lots of us scattered believers out there of many philosophies, even in the U.S, who understand that Jesus is love and He is for everyone, and we are called to love even our enemies.

Sadly, it's harder to find us. We don't have wealthy benefactors and think-tanks and politicians and mega-stadium churches, where sermons are more akin to conservative feel-good self-help seminars than Bible study.

The Gospel of Christ has been warped and co-opted by the rich and powerful to make them feel good about themselves, and to lure the masses to want to be like them, instead of like Jesus. They want Bibles closed and wallets open.

It's one of the most ongoing and successful false flag operations in history: The americhristian cult has done so much damage. Indeed, how can one worship Jesus and money? Or a flag?

But we're still out there trying to just be the best people we can. I appreciate it when people of any belief acknowledge the existence of flawed-but-trying Christians who will gladly ally with you to the death against this cult of hatred and lies.
