👋 Is there a complete yet simple list of companies named in this report somewhere, anywhere?

Thanks for the effort! From that list, I’ve been using:

Microsoft (GitHub, but I also reply to people using Outlook. Both of those have to change. I might set up an auto reply for those domains explaining why I won’t be reading their emails from those domains )

Alphabet (Similar to outlook, I reply to people with GMail)

Amazon  (I’ve been reducing my use, but I need to stop dead and forgot the convenience)

Booking & Airbnb (When on holidays)

Cold turkey is the only way to go in a situation this depraved and urgent.

outlook, gmail

what are the alternatives you have in mind and why?

I’m looking for a provider that is:

  • Genocide-free
  • Environmentally conscious
  • Does not exploit workers
  • Has decent privacy

I’ve narrowed it down to:

  • Posteo
  • Tuta
  • Proton

And I’ve based this on extensive research and analysis presented here https://www.ethicalconsumer.org/technology/shopping-guide/ethical-email-providers

The alternative doesn’t need to be perfect. It just needs to be far better.
