I look at these works of art created by artificial intelligence and I think: yes, it's beautiful, yes, it's good, but... What's the point? Where's the story, where's the work, if everything is so simple, then what's the point? It's no better than a store where you come and buy, although no, you come, take everything you need for free and leave. I don't see any value in it, it's just boring.

People said the same thing when Daft Punk went on stage just pressing buttons, and more broadly about all digital art. What if they were proompters? Proompt punk? Typing in prompts live? Would that make it not art? What if they used autohotkey to proompt with a midi to keyboard program like a stream deck? What if they used VSTs or digital synths instead of analog synths? What then? Is it art? Is it not art?

Find a better argument and I'm on your side. I have no horse in this race, no bias towards techbros (if anything, I have extreme bias against corpos), but I won't support flawed ideas based on amygdala driven reactionary bs and justified retroactively with spooks.

This is fundamentally different, though. I remember when some reactionaries thought digital instruments somehow invalidated the work. But Daft Punk were still people. They took human ideas and transformed them into reality, creating something new. Buttons and knobs can be instruments in the hands of an artist. With AI, it is the plagiarism engine that is doing the creation. Tape two AIs together and they can create β€œart” all day. None of it will be anything more than a sad imitation of what humans made.

Proompters are human people who take human ideas and transform them into reality making something new. Prompts can be instruments in the hands of an artist.

The rest of your arguments are qualitative subjective anecdotal speculations. I could equally claim all digital music is shit. In fact if you did not farm the goats for the goatskin of your drums you're not a real artist. Obviously I don't think that, but hopefully it demonstrates how absurdly arbitrary you're being.
