Is anyone actually getting notifications from Boost? (lemmy.ca)

I thought I might have done the setup wrong, but I don't think I'm getting any regardless of what I set. If I go into app info and try to turn on the permission toggle, I get "this app does not send notifications"

Is that intentional with the beta version, or could that be a bug for some users
