It is kinda bad UI decision, not a bug. You should login into your account on some instance and choose through which instance you get content on the top of the screen. After that you will not have problems with commenting. Same thing with search, under search rectangle choose your instance! โค๏ธ

Yeah but that's the same way all other clients work, except that the do it in a more intuitive way and with a less cluttered UI

I figured this out pretty early on but still getting this error. Weird.
