I'm highly curious if there's a way to use ActivityPub for a game, so servers could all see each other in a novel game? Hmm. Maybe mix in ReadyPlayer.Me or similar for avatars? ๐Ÿค”

The pitched version of the metaverse before it got lambasted was a federation of apps, especially games that use things like ready player me. At the moment I'm not sure ActivityPub has that in it.

The immediate thought that came to mind waa a semi-procedural space trading/combat game that crafted galaxies inspired by netword structures and connected devices, with the router serving as the 'stargate' and resources not actually pulling anything from the systems involved. Smart devices could show up as ships or satellites, or planets depending on the types of devices involved.

Something of a cross between Star Control/ Ur-Quan Masters, No Man's Sky, and maybe Allegiance?
