Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. The problem I have with this narrative isn't who dropped the bomb. Tbh they're probably right it was a Palestinian missile. It's the sheer audacity for all these western countries to be shocked and say let's figure this out, as Israel just dropped like 6000 bombs in 6 days. They're worried about one bomb but not the 6000 others, cause ya know, those were killing only Hamas and not injured people in a hospital /s.
While the Muslim world looks on in horror at more bombing in a conflict that has been going on for decades, the western world is focused on insignificant details. Who carried out what attack. Who dropped what bomb. Which act is more morally reprehensible. None of this solves the problem of a displaced people. Only the US can pressure Israel to accept a two state solution. That's the only peaceful solution possible for this conflict imo. The other solution is to wipe out Gaza and the West Bank and everyday we're getting closer to that.
I don't know, most of the papers in the UK led with a front page item on how Israel had killed 500 people by bombing a hospital. So if that wasn't actually true, it's quite important.
I doubt that Rishi Sunak speak correctly.

what can third parties do to reduce or eliminate Hamas's hold on Palestine?
I'm all for Palestinian rights, and the constant encroachment of fundamentalist settlements is a war crime that went unpunished for Israel - but Hamas's charter is explicit, there's no middle ground or two state solution, just the destruction of Israel.
So how can third parties help the Palestinians in the one way that would make a significant difference in their QOL and interactions with Israel?

pfft. did you even read the question? How the fuck does that stop Hamas, if anything it would embolden them. How does that help Palestinians wanting a future without a genocidal fuckwit club running their country?
Just helping Israel doesn't help Israeli lives... Sending all that money to Israel is no good when all they do with it is use it for terrorist attacks like the ones they're carrying out right now.

In no way am I suggesting Israeli crimes be forgotten, or that they're let off the hook. But in this instance Hamas attacked civilians and that's not going to go away, even if you can spin Hamas's actions as retribution.
The thing that sickens me the most was Hamas murdered multiple people who were vociferous and lifelong advocates for a two state solution and wanted compromise. And Hamas has never shown leadership; the people of Palestine deserve better from both directions.
BDS is the peaceful solution.
You can stick your fingers in your ears and call me all the names you want. Smarter people than you or I have already given their opinions. Go look one up since you're clearly not interested in discussion.

Israel can also reverse its decision to call a bunch of secular groups "terrorist organizations," follow WHO recommendations, follow UN recommendations, turn food on in Gaza, start shipping water to Gaza, start providing electricity to Gaza, cease gunning down people in Gaza, stop blocking people from Gaza from leaving to Egypt, allow a UN investigatory force into the country to determine whether they were committing war crimes, allow neutral peacekeepers to mediate the violence between them and Gaza, have them accept massive sanctions if they kill even another Palestinian, demand an immediate rollback of all West Bank settlements, remove the ethnonationalist language from their laws, stop discriminating based on religion on their "right to return" policies, extend all rights that they give to Jews to everyone else in the West Bank and Gaza, pay reparations to everyone they have harmed in the West Bank and Gaza, publicly apologize for all extremist language used during and leading up to their terrorist attack on Gaza, military tribunals for all IDF soldiers found attacking unarmed Palestinians, etc.

uhhh is this the case? My understanding was the passage from Gaza to Egypt was blocked by Gaza. Hard to find details though, I could be mistaken.
I'm all for Israel being held to the rule of law. I'm also all for Hamas being held to the same structures.
Well if there's just one thing wrong in my wall of text, so be it. Googling around, it looks like Egypt is the group that doesn't want the Rafah crossing opened, because they don't want Palestinians settling permanently in their land. And Israel has been bombing the crossing and the migrants at it.
Concentrating Palestinians who were already in one of the most densely populated areas of the world into what, half their original land mass, is pretty genocidal on its own. Maybe just no longer doing the genocide. They could stop.
You're not going to get any magical solution because Israel is a country founded on stolen land by entitled religious extremists. People always leave that part out when they talk about this situation.
