Evening Freshness

  • Brush: Chisel and Hound Ambrosia Maple with 26 mm synthetic Maggard knot
  • Razor: Valet AutoStrop VC1 (1922-1929?)
  • Blade: Feather FHS-10
  • Lather: Stirling Soap Co Black Pepper Lime
  • Aftershave: Spearhead Shaving Company Seaforth! Sea Spice Lime
  • Fragrance: Chatillon Lux Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli

Very fresh shave tonight. One thing jumped at me after months and months of only using boar, badger, and horse brushes: Synths are damn good lather monsters. Paraphrasing u/J33pGuy13 (or was it @Old_Hiker@sub.wetshaving.social?): They have no soul, but they lather well.

I enjoy the cleverness of the VC1's design more than how well it shaves. A few more shaves to wow me and then it goes to the bottom of my rotation and we'll see it again in 2027 (or Lather Games 2024, depending on the Scavenger Hunt hashtags)
