From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

That doesn't really change the core problem with Windows currently, which is that once it starts an update it can become inoperable for several hours, and that without an LTSC copy of windows or other expensive enterprise build you do not get to disable or delay the updates.

I honestly haven’t had any problems with any updates. They download in the background and give me a choice when to install them, and they never took unreasonably long to install or rendered my system unusable either. You can even turn them off for up to 5 weeks at a time.

I understand that this didn’t use to be like that based on the amount of memes and complaints, but they must be based on previous versions of Windows which I never used (basically XP was the last version I’ve used before 11).

Of course this is just my personal experience, YMMV.
