  • Brush: AP Shave Co. - 24mm Synbad Fan
  • Razor: Gillette Tech (Z-4)
  • Blade: Bolzano Superinox (German) (4)
  • Lather: Siliski Soaps - Frankincense and Myrrh - Soap
  • Post Shave: Chicago Grooming Co. - Frankie & Myrna - Aftershave

I was moving some new samples into the Sample Box™ and ran out of room. This Siliski sample is rather large, so it drew the short straw. The scent isn't all that special, but the soap base is decent. It started off quite fluffy, but settled down after adding a bunch of water. It's good and slick once you work at it for a bit, but I prefer other soap bases.

This razor/blade combo is in my notes as being one of my favorites. The first 3 shaves were good in this particular series of shaves, but today the blade seemed to come alive. Some people don't like blades that "open up" with time, but I don't mind it. I know I'll probably get another 4 great shaves out of it before it goes to being just "good" until it dies.

The power went out last night because of a tree falling on the lines nearby. Only about 5 houses are affected near us. The power company is sitting there waiting for another company to come, because apparently they don't own the utility poles anymore. The company who owns the poles is an Internet/Cable provider, and they must have just recently bought all of the poles because they ran fiber to our neighborhood within the past couple of months. We can't order fiber internet yet, but I guess it's coming. That would make this power outage almost worth it.

We have a whole house generator because this type of thing is common out in the sticks where we live, so we're comfortable with heat, running water, etc. If it goes on for more than a day we'll have to ration the propane, but for now we're living life in luxury.

Cables on utility poles --;

Fingers crossed for the propane reserves to outlast the outage

They installed a new pole and got everything hooked up yesterday. The power was only out for about 16 hours. Not bad!

Still bad enough it would ruin my day (no generator here) 😅
