Unfortunately the only date they announced was 2024. So, no idea yet if it is early or late in the year. The announcement was made as part of a TV special hosted by several of the cast members. Something I didn't realize is that this movie was announced all the way back in 2021. So, this finally brings some resolution to what has been an open-ended release for the past couple years.

If you haven't watched Overlord yet, this movie depicts events that happen in the same time period of season 4 of the show (see comments below for more clarification, it's complicated). Synopsis of the first season from AniList:

The story takes place in the year 2138 when virtual reality gaming is booming. Yggdrasil, a popular online game is quietly shut down one day. However, the protagonist Momonga decides to not log out. Momonga is then transformed into the image of a skeleton as "the most powerful wizard." The world continues to change, with non-player characters (NPCs) beginning to feel emotion. Having no parents, friends, or place in society, this ordinary young man Momonga then strives to take over the new world the game has become.

bizarrely, season 4 skipped the substantial period of time where this movie takes place. it happens shortly after the dwarves arc. it is understandable that they adapted it strangely because they were trying to maintain the 3-books-per-season thing and unfortunately the books order kinda made that impossible without some finagling. in my opinion as well as most people ive asked, this is the best arc in overlord, hands down. you should absolutely be hyped!

Thanks for the clarification, I have edited the OP accordingly. I am not that far into the LNs, so I wasn't aware of the complicated placement of this arc on the timeline the anime has established.

Its my favorite book series I've ever read!

Yes, this is an adaptation of light novel volumes 12 and 13 according to the wiki. My asterisk to this is that I have not read that far into the novels, so I can't verify that personally. All the previous Overlord movies have just been recap movies I believe.

Awesome. I've been wanting to see more of Overlord for too long.
