I really liked Marcille's dream to open the episode. During the opening parts of the episode, dealing with the basilisk and mandrakes, I was worried that Marcille was going to end up as nothing more than a comedy relief character. However, I was super happy to see that the writer might have peeked into my brain and directly addressed that through Marcille having a mandrake-influenced truth serum moment, admitting to her insecurities. We still haven't gotten a chance to see her shine, but I am glad they at least addressed this. It gives me more hope that there will be some moment in the future that was made for her to kick ass.

You better believe it. This story has some of my favorite characterization in... anything. Marcille did end up my favorite, and not just because she's an absolute cinnamon roll.

Laios also shows off his wisdom and sensitivity as party leader. When Chilchuck is about to fly off the handle, he leads by example and pulls his party back together with a few reassuring words.
