This community is first and foremost a feminist community for men and masc people, but it is also a place to talk about men’s issues with a particular focus on intersectionality.
Rules
Everybody is welcome, but this is primarily a space for men and masc people
Non-masculine perspectives are incredibly important in making sure that the lived experiences of others are present in discussions on masculinity, but please remember that this is a space to discuss issues pertaining to men and masc individuals. Be kind, open-minded, and take care that you aren't talking over men expressing their own lived experiences.
Be productive
Be proactive in forming a productive discussion. Constructive criticism of our community is fine, but if you mainly criticize feminism or other people's efforts to solve gender issues, your post/comment will be removed.
Keep the following guidelines in mind when posting:
- Build upon the OP
- Discuss concepts rather than semantics
- No low effort comments
- No personal attacks
Assume good faith
Do not call other submitters' personal experiences into question.
No bigotry
Slurs, hate speech, and negative stereotyping towards marginalized groups will not be tolerated.
No brigading
Do not participate if you have been linked to this discussion from elsewhere. Similarly, links to elsewhere on the threadiverse must promote constructive discussion of men’s issues.

That is what I'm saying - and that is not how it works. We need first to help people to not become assholes in the first place and second help people change. Why? If nothing else for pure selfish reason.

I don't know how we stop them in the first place though. You have to get everyone to buy into a concerted approach to make a systemic change.
I'm legit curious if you've got ideas on how to get there. How do you convince 1B dudes to not listen to Tate's messaging, for instance.
You need to create media tailored to them but with progressive message. There is no one size fits them all approach and I would say no receipy. In general it has to be an artist who understands their life experience rather well and has the skills to make content they will enjoy. People like Contrapoints and Hasan definitely have some success with reaching that audience.
I would disagree. There are sure some, but I would say most comes from misrepresentation through the right or mainstream media. I gave even two examples of creators targeting young male audience in quite different ways.
Again I disagree that feminism treats man as the villain. On most fundamental level it's critique of a system not individuals to beginn with. While at the same time I give you that there are feminist groups that are fundamentally misandrist, that is not the case for the movement as a whole and I would even argue not the case for the majority of people who see themselves as feminist.
Progressive culture as a whole treats man as the villain? (Just to make sure I got your point correct this time).
