About a decade ago, Tesla rigged the dashboard readouts in its electric cars to provide “rosy” projections of how far owners can drive before needing to recharge, a source told Reuters. The automaker last year became so inundated with driving-range complaints that it created a special team to cancel owners’ service appointments.

Tesla doing more shady shit, shocker. I can’t believe 5 or 10 years ago I thought this guy was some kind of Tony stark. I’m thinking that back then he just had a better PR team to manage him, and now that he’s rich enough he just stopped giving a fuck.

What I don't understand is, given his industries he is part of, why he is cozying up to the political right. As far as I know, they've always hated "hippy dippy" electric cars. And rockets are "nerd" shit. So the pivot is very strange. It's like a gay club trying to attract straight people.

Maybe it's a long game to well cybertrucks to people who want to own the libs, but it feels shortsighted. I seriously expected my next car to be a tesla but cant support this shit
