Hi, Everyone, A while ago, I got tired of the desert around Ampco HQ, short for Amphibian Mining Company (my main base) and decided to start terraforming it, at first it didn't work and the grass did not seem to went to go one block from the grass you see on the top right, I just tried again and it seemed to work, so I built a bridge you can see the grass start to spread very slowly, I am excited because it didn't seem to work before. Its not finished yet so if you go it maybe dangerous but, If anyone wants to look the base is at: 1866 68 -3780, There is a canal to a desert village, and another one under construction going west, I am building a village on the terraformed area, I am experimenting with semi underground homes, theirs a big dam with windows to see underwater.

When its more finished I plan on connecting it via canal and/or train to spawn though the highland village area. but that will be a long time because I'm really busy.

Does bone meal cause grass to spread faster? It's been a minute since i played, but i remember making an island in the middle of an ocean and using bone meal to help spread the grass block that was dropped by an ender man.

Unfortunately, it does not work. Bonemealing grass blocks just creates foliage (short grass, flowers, etc.) around the block. Moss blocks on the other hand convert natural blocks around them to moss when bonemealing them.

Best thing to do is, if you have silk touch, get a couple of grass blocks and dot them around the dirt to encourage spread from multiple locations.

Also is a good idea to AFK in the area so that there's more time for the grass to grow. At least if that's possible, I understand that it's not possible for everybody to AFK for long periods of time.
