Oh man, this meme is fantastic. But try to use catbox.moe as your instance appears to squash the quality.
Please don't use catbox.moe, they block Tor traffic.
are there any better alternatives?
After trying for some time to find a good solution for hosting stuff for Lemmy - people will always complain. My suggestion is to in fact use catbox for anything images. The number of people who constantly use Tor, even here, is tiny.
that's true, and its good for videos too
It.... works for video. I post a lot of OC ideos and it often just sits there buffering for higher quality stuff that is close to the 200mb limit.
the original image is in this quality, besides I think its funny anyway
It probably looks worse for her, I made a post the other day and people including her were saying the font was straight up unreadable while it looked fine to me and I think we came to the conclusion that they weren't seeing the original quality but could download the "HD" version, but idk if that's an intance thing, a client thing or what
could it be a client side setting? data saver?
yea that's what I guess too, tho I haven't had that issue in Jerboa/WebUI/Voyager so I dont know how that feature/bug works
So this is the link I'm being served.

Perhaps I'm being a bit sensitive. But there's a fair bit of banding and the author's watermark illegible.
The source image is clearer.
