This is so cute, been watching you stitch it up over on Mastodon and you've got me eyeing up all these fancy stitches I still need to learn. Brb looking up what on earth fishbone stitch is lol, gotta add to my notes โ
The texture on the side of the slice reminds me of knitting!

If you can do a half decent backstitch then you should try pekinese stitch (the outline of the plate).
The sponge cake is made of bayeux stitch which is really fast to make ! But relies on satin stitch which is deceptively difficult.
The knitted looking one is not quite a detached buttonhole filling, also sometimes detached blanket stitch.
Also used: seed stitch, satin stitch and hungarian braided chain stitch.
