Welp, for me in Portugal it shows up as 23โฌ....
I remember the good days when I bought Sync Pro for 2,69โฌ...
I'm seeing AUD$~~35~~ $33.99.
I paid AUD$1.91 ten years ago for "reddit sync pro" (I believe it was on sale).
I was expecting to pay around $10-$15 to block ads, so this is a bit of a shock.
Are you sure you are on beta 25? It shows me 15 eur when clicking "remove ads", not get ultra
It's showing ยฃ18.99 for me, which is a lot. I thought it was going to be like ยฃ2.99!
I didn't see the option at all last night. This morning the app updated, and now I see the remove ads option.
An insane amount of money to remove ads. Guess I'm going to keep using Liftoff.
Connect is free and fantastic, and the dev(s) are adding new features regularly. I'm a bit torn, as I loved Sync for Reddit and was happy to give my money again for Sync for Lemmy - just not quite that much of it.
Maybe give Summit a try. It's similar to Sync, but ad free.
Damn, kangaroo dollars are cheap...

It was already ridiculous an hour ago when it was priced at 16โฌ (compared to $12 everywhere else).
I want to support the app but 23โฌ in our economy is simply ludicrous.

I'm on the same boat here, bought pro at the time was would gladly buy the ad removal here but 23โฌ is just a big no.
I bought Sync Pro for that.. almost 10 years ago. IMO a polished Lemmy app with that many years of experience and tune-up is worth more than the original price.
Max โฌ10 imo. Even that is on the high side just to remove ads. But that is something I would be willing to pay. And only because I know it is a good app. New customers will never even pay โฌ10.
The developer is full time dedicated to development of this app. We are his income. People can't stand the idea of paying for the things they use. Get over yourselves. You pay $70 for a video game you play for 20 hours but less than 1/3 the price for something you use every day for years and suddenly that's way too much money. If you don't want it don't buy it. Nobody is making you.
Exactly. Nobody is making me and I won't. But we are at a place of discussion here, so I guess I can add my perspective. It is a lot of money just to remove ads. You can't deny that. I'm just wishing him the best of luck selling it to new users for that price. The only users that will buy it for that price are the reddit sync fans.
I feel that 2 Euro per month for something I use that much isn't really that bad of a deal. But I just want to support Lemmy and the developers that make this all happen. I also did some donations to other devs (Alexandrite this month) but Sync is the most polished and feature-rich app by far imo.
