Haven't tested all of these, but many do not work on ios 12. Thunder is my current favorite that does. Old iPad gang gang. Edit : only liftoff also works, but crashes. Didn't try the github links, only test flight and app store.
Yeah that's a tough one. For Mlem we want to use SwiftUI which largely requires iOS 16+
