Jeez, remember when Nextcloud did only a couple of basic things and did them well? Scratch that memory and give a round of applause to the still-growing Bloaty McBloatface.
Sadly, I havent been there but when I started using it 2 yrs ago I thought I‘d never use all of its features (which is impossible if you count plugins) but now I have a huge cloud solution running on my homeserver which is awesome.
But yes, not great if you want it to do one thing only or the like.
I mean most things are implemented as plugins, so you can just disable the ones with features you consider bloat.
That's why I use OwnCloud. OCIS, specifically.
