Another nomenclature of ammunition supplied from Iran to Russia has been recorded and such ammunition includes 203-mm shells for M110 SAU produced by... USA!
Russian propaganda even tried to spread the fake that those are trophy shells that the ROV captured from the AFU. But they are not.
The shells for the M110 are identical and compatible with the 2S7 Pion (Malka) shells and were once supplied to Iran. Now, from Iran they went to Russia.
In this context, it should be noted that the delivery from Iran of such caliber is recorded for the first time. In fact, the calibers supplied from Iran are verified:
152-mm for barrel artillery;
130-mm for barrel artillery;
125-mm tank shot;
122-mm for barrel artillery;
122-mm for rocket artillery;
120-mm for mortars;
These deliveries also indicate a shortage of 203-mm caliber in the Russian forces. In particular, by the end of March 2024, Russia intended to revive and increase production of 203-mm active-jet shells for the Pion SAU ZVOF35 and ZVOF34/42 at the Plastmass Plant. But, judging by the available information, they did not achieve fantastic success in this field, although they did not give up the idea of reviving serial production.
It seems that until production is "fully operational," Iran will partially solve the issue of Russia's shortage of 203-mm ammunition.
