  • Its annual report, released today, shows the number of affordable rentals available for different Australian households on low incomes.
  • The report has found housing availability has not recovered since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic – with average rents $200 a week higher than pre-pandemic levels.

What proportion of properties actually have foreign owners and how many of those are vacant?

I see people point at this all the time but I never see numbers. I feel like the financialisation of housing, negative gearing, capital gains discounting, and underminding of public housing being more than enough to completely fuck shit on their own.
