And so begins the enshittification of a once great service.
How is changing the trial time the start of enshitification? It doesn't affect the actual service at all.
It's already a popular enough opinion that gamepass is too good a deal for the price they're charging yet some of the loudest people on public forums will warn, and I bet act, like the world is coming to an end cause they're pulling out of the "try to get as many users as possible to try and get comfortable on the service" phase. If it becomes too expensive for your tastes, just cancel. Otherwise it's just a good deal you can enjoy until it happens.
It's not even enshittification. It's not like the service got "worse."
I'm surprised they still have free games on it at all. They're basically doing movie pass for games. But making it work.
It's a free trial for a service that offers limited time free games.
A free trial.
I mean they were clearly (and still are) in their penetration stage, anybody could have told you that the current conditions and pricepoint are only temporary.
It's obvious that the endgame for Gamespass will look a lot worse for the consumer than the current offering, mostly because it probably doesn't make a lot of business sense for them otherwise.
