Look up how non-compete and non-disclosure clauses at some companies have worked for decades.

If you leave their company, you are legally not allowed to work in the industry or they sue you for absurd amounts of money. It’s so comical that companies like Jimmy John’s subs used clauses like that. You have no legal recourse; and are essentially bound to the company unless you jump through an absurd number of hoops.

What's worse, is that you don't have to leave the company of your own will for the non-compete clauses to apply. Even if you get fired or made redundant, you still can't work in the industry you probably built your entire career on.
