Final edit, since the filter was fixed, here's the correct URL:

https://theappendix.net/issues/2013/10/local-history-feet-first

An interesting article on the history of how Houston became like that, by a historian trying to walk through it:

Edit: I dunno why, but part of the URL keeps getting removed? Some sort of filter?

https://removedendix.net/issues/2013/10/local-history-feet-first

The website is "the appendix dot net", but "the app" part of the URL shows up as removed when I post it, never seen this

Edit, test: here I am trying not write "the app" without a space: "removed" 😂

Maybe the new slur filter was being used by your admins and they cocked it up? I can't imagine why they'd want to censor "theapp"

Do you think it's an instance level thing? I want to post somewhere and ask. I never gave much thought to what instance I am on, I just kinda looked for a big one when I first learned about Lemmy

If it's the slur filter, then it's an instance level thing yes. It's not censored on my end, and it's on lemmy.world, so I assume this is maybe a bad regex.

PS.: I posted on lemmy.world support community asking about it: https://lemmy.world/post/16355532

good times, theapp!

As in you can see my URL normally? Thanks for the info, I will post somewhere to ask about

I actually can't see your URL, because it's censored before being federated. However I can see me typing "theapp" on my end. However if I visit your instance it's shown as removed
