I think a lot of those herb pill things just introduces much needed fiber to peoples diets and people attribute the benefits of fiber to the herbs.
Become old... drink fiber powder or eat psyllium fiber.
Here is a smoothy to help you get fiber without resorting to the old people fiber powder:
1 cup kale or spring greens
1 cup frozen fruit (change type of fruit for desired flavor)
1 serving Greek yogurt
2 tbsp flax seed
1 scoop protein powder
1 cup almond milk
