Why does Daphne need to have visible nipples in this?

[-] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 99 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

It’s realistic. You trying to say that you wouldn’t be excited after culling a klan rally?

[-] NJSpradlin@lemmy.world 33 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

I’d have a full on hard on after mercing* 4-5 without getting shot myself. Daphne is rocking it, kudos to her.

[-] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 13 points 3 days ago

Daphne doesnt believe in bras.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 66 points 4 days ago

You have better eyesight than I do. That's one tiny dot of a nipple.

[-] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 30 points 4 days ago

I count 2, plus four counts of murder.

[-] NJSpradlin@lemmy.world 32 points 4 days ago

I mean, they asked for it. I wouldn’t call it murder. She might have a really good case of self defense.

Are you defending the KKK..? We’re all joking here, but the joke of the meme itself is that she shot KKK members. Do you know their history of racism and lynching black Americans? If you are supporting white supremacy so much so that you’re riding around in their klan outfit? Eh…

That’s like claiming to be part of the Nazi party in Germany, you’re going to get what you Fucking deserve and I doubt anyone would bat a fucking eye at whatever you got for your Nazi beliefs.

I think the joke here was that, like jimbob in the gif, Daphne wasn't actually being attacked the Klanners at the time. The 'its coming right for me' is being used to justify killing the target(s), the ram(?) in jimbob's case, the Klanners in Daphne.

Also like Jimbob, no crime was depicted in either image, only justified self defense as would be recognized by a jury of their peers.

EDIT: Jimbo not jimbob lmao

I didn’t even realize it was KKK. I thought it was just a dark joke about how the ghosts always being bandits in disguise in the cartoon.

[-] NJSpradlin@lemmy.world 9 points 4 days ago

Most often rounded hooded ghost costumes are ghosts. Pointed are klanners.

[-] RecluseRamble@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 3 days ago

Quite a story you interpret into that short gif.

[-] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

Whoa, not defending. Just making snarky comments.

[-] BigDanishGuy@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 days ago

They were ghosts, you can't kill someone who's already dead

[-] dual_sport_dork@lemmy.world 25 points 4 days ago

Somehow her navel is visible through the tube dress as well. Perhaps it just made out of Saran Wrap.

[-] GladiusB@lemmy.world 21 points 3 days ago

I'm pretty sure this is a rough draft. Artists use these markers for correct proportions and take them out with the finished product. But many things of this sketch look unfinished.

[-] rickyrigatoni@lemm.ee 20 points 3 days ago
[-] stebo02@lemmy.dbzer0.com 25 points 3 days ago

not to mention the belly button that is somehow part of her dress

[-] GreyEyedGhost@lemmy.ca 5 points 3 days ago

You mean, like this? Or this? I found better examples on my web search, but they appeared to be from personal sites, and I wasn't broadcasting that.

There are curves etc. around the belly button that will stretch and twist fabric like that, particularly if they're somewhat tight. Weight doesn't have a large bearing on it, but lighting will make it more or less obvious. If you can see it in staged pictures, you will see it in more casual settings. And it's not too surprising an artist would notice details like that.

[-] LNRDrone@sopuli.xyz 22 points 4 days ago

Maybe the artist likes nipples? Can't blame them really

[-] Nurse_Robot@lemmy.world 19 points 4 days ago

Because women have nipples

[-] ameancow@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

But we're fine with the gun and murder?

Understand the way in which people commonly use iconic media figures in artistic, subversive ways to parody and highlight social issues. It's a human thing, humans do it.

You gotta try to fit in y'know.

[-] nyar@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Yep, fine with the justified homicide of klansmen.
