Allowing these companies to ever sell anything with the "cloud" marketing was a colossal mistake. Not only it was a waste of people's money, but now also e-waste

This is it, pretty much. I don't agree with people who are aggressively against Nintendo in general, especially in cases like the MIG-Switch, but at the same time, they operate in such a bizarre grey area. It's unbelievably stupid to both prevent software preservation, and not allow legal ways to obtain those titles

When money is on the table, this will never happen

Even with all the privacy concerns aside, I absolutely fucking despise it, when I cannot use my computer the way I want it to be used. That alone would have been enough to convince me to switch. Not to mention that trying to fix issues is a waste of effort, because the system internals are obscured into oblivion. Looking up any issue results in a generic "have you tried turning it off" answer from a Microsoft forum bot.

I like how the Linux kernel works, and I like how things around it are designed. It's much simpler, a lot more straight-forward, and I can setup shit how I like it. It's almost as if people who are working on Windows know that they want to tighten their grip over your system, to the extremes, but at the same time, don't have the reputation of Apple, to be let off the hook, when they pull complete bullshit moves every time

I genuinely dont know a single person who's created a Threads account (usually through the instagram prompt), and continued using it since then

I genuinely dont understand how SEGA are still in business, after decades of being completely detached from reality

I hope this ends up being better, than what Vortex was built to be.

After hearing that one of the primary developers behind Mod Organizer got hired, i was super excited, but Vortex ended up being inferior in… practically every single way. I still wouldn’t recommend it even to brand new people, because the learning curve of MO is considerably lower, than the error fixing curve with the other

I've returned to the game too, after a fairly long break, and ended up settling on Thuldor's preset. I love Simonrim, so it saved me the time on putting it together, but all the newest fixes/modernization efforts are there too. Strongly recommended. The leveling process is completely different, and that's something I haven't tried before. About 60 hours in, it's really damn solid

I wasn’t having many issues to begin with, but with the introduction of explicit sync into Kwin, and driver improvements throughout the 555 beta series, it’s been just about perfect for me.

The only issue i’ve encountered so far is the panel freezing sometimes. Submit a bug report to both KDE and Nvidia, they’re working on it.

555.58 just came out, you should be using that if you're on Nvidia, together with an updated compositor for whichever desktop you have

If you have reading comprehension of, at least, an 8th-grader, you'll do just fine. The instructions are all there

Quite a shame that the vast majority of people this video is targeted at will just not care. Especially in the US, or the UAE, if your Apple device breaks, you just get another Apple device, because it's a status symbol.

On the topic of Marques though - I haven't watched any of his stuff in quite a while, after I've had an eye-opened moment from his content. He would scald and roast companies that make mistakes, and make bad choices, but when Apple, or lets say Tesla, make the same mistake, he lets them off the hook. That's not unbiased journalism at all.
