Under outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte, the Netherlands has been a staunch ally of Ukraine, being one of the few partners to pledge F-16 fighter jets.

Reluctantly, one might add. The leader of the biggest party is a friend of Orban and wished to deny support. However he has sidelined that plans as they would errode his popular support.

Make no mistake he'll turn on a dime once he can.
