Great photo! It looks like you were able to get pretty close to it. Was that the case or did you just have a really long lens?

The bird was maybe 4 meters up from the path I was on?

Ah, that wouldn't explain the angle a little. Birding is intriguing to me, but I don't have the time to get close and don't have a long enough lens to compensate with reach.

Aren't they the ones attacking cyclists? I think it's hilarious but i'm also happy they're far away from me and my bike, haha.

Also great photo again, amazing how your pictures turn out now!

Not just cyclists, but yes. The males become very protective of their offspring in breeding season.

A lot of aus cyclists go as far as to tie zip ties on their helmets such that the tails stick out like bird spikes when the right time of year hits.
