America really needs to raise the standards for who can have a driver's license at the federal level.

But then they would need to acknowledge that the driver's license is also a permission slip to participate in society with how car-dependent their cities have become.

Just think that we're only seeing photos of the aftermath of cars that:

  1. Hit with enough speed to fully mount the rock.

  2. Stayed high-centred.

If it was just a glancing blow, or the car slipped off sideways or even made it all the way over, it would limp away and avoid the photograph of shame.

There's gotta be a lot more cars hitting this thing than get officially reported.
