Stop renaming things. Just stop it. Even in this case where the old name was rather uninspired and the new one pretty good, I feel like I should put in a token word for the merits of leaving such things alone. Oh well, at least they're not yet at the point of calling it "Bell ExpressVu Square" or whatever.

Scotiabank Square powered by Samsung®

I think the new name is awful. What is the connection to Toronto? Maybe there is one, but it's not obvious and it shouldnt require a degree in history to make the connection.

Was Mr. Dundas an awful person? Definitely... Did he have historical ties to the city? Definitely. Should we remove his name from stuff? Probably... But pick a good name that makes sense....

I'd rather have names in the city that remind us of our awful past rather than words that sound nice but have no obvious connection to the city

that million dollars could have been better served in a city that desperately needs it. no, instead lets continue to play the optics game and rename a square that everyone will continue to call Yonge and Dundas Square.

Past couple weeks haven't looked good for Chow combine this with her statements last week of wanting to get people back in the office 5 days a week it's showing how far her finger is from the pulse of this city.

To me, it's Sam the Record Man's Square.
