exactly. The DeGasperis Family has a home development right across the street from the OSC, same family that Doug promised development on the greenbelt too so Dougie owes them big time.

the OSC in bad shape, while true, was just an convenient excuse to hand over the land to the DeGasperis Family. Another Ex-Shopify guy offered up another million on top of the 500+K but unless they're ALSO willing to pay off what Dougie owes to the DeGasperis' then this ain't going anywhere.

Science museums are important for our future, they help to get kids involved with science, yes, but also interested in how the world around them works. We can gauge our regard for our own kids, as a society, by how we treat our science centres...and libraries.

I was resigned to Ford's fuckery with the Science Centre, but I was hoping for at least a good bit of notice and a chance for everyone to properly bid farewell. Maybe this funding will help provide that last lifeline.
