The trick is to only write comments and never read them.

Look up whatever game you happen to like and add "woke" to it's name in the YouTube search bar and boom! Inszent digital self harm!

[–] Cheesus@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Some how my favorite game didn't succumb to that. I guess raiding South American countries for minors and signing them to unfair under paid contracts didn't attract the alt right. Football manager can do no wrong, except suck up time.

Watches documentary on some space shit.

Goes to read comments...

"Nice CGI job, NASA. Wake up sheeple whwarrgarble!"

Loses a bit more faith in humanity.

I don't know what y'all are watchin' but the vast majority of comment sections I see are pretty wholesome.

That’s because the algorithm hides everything that could affect ad revenue by turning people away from the platform

[–] lars@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Wait, has the algorithm finally begun to serve us ?!

[–] balderdash9@lemmy.zip 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I do watch the news on YouTube....

[–] WarmSoda@lemm.ee 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ouch. Yeah do not open the comments on those.
You're just asking for it.

eye bleach by reading comments on music videos, which mostly contains wholesome praises

Wow sir, yet another great video sir. You get better every video sir.

To me that's a scarier comment then any when its repeated 30 times in different iterations on every single video. Its like a stepford wife vibe but youtube

[–] Fried_out_Kombi@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Honestly, I don't mind it, though. A lot of creators pour their hearts and souls into their content, and I'm sure social validation of their work feels wonderful to them.

Shoot, what’s this frame taken from?

[–] balderdash9@lemmy.zip 14 points 1 year ago

It's from I Am Legend when Will Smith stubbles in on a clutch of zombies

[–] ButtholeSpiders@startrek.website 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I Am Legend, the one with Will Smith.

[–] Kbin_space_program@kbin.social 13 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Oh, the one where Hollywood ripped out the ending that explains the goddamn title.

[–] NielsBohron@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah...yeah. I think that was when I lost all faith in Hollywood to adapt anything without shitting all over it. It's gotten better with some recent stuff (Dune, for instance), but if I ever have to watch anything that is based on a property that I like, I try to go in with my expectations at absolute fucking bedrock.

Also, this is a reasonable time to mention one of my favorite heavy bands of all time, He Is Legend. They take their name from the Matheson book, and their biggest "hit" is called "I Am Hollywood," so your comment just made me flash back to the late 2000's metalcore scene.

I am legend I think? Maybe Pandorum?

[–] Discover5164@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

maybe, i am legend (2007) or Man Against fire (black mirror s03 ep05)

[–] menemen@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I literally once saw a death thread there about someone making a cake supposedly wrong...
