Unfortunately simplex uses way too much battery on my unisoc tablet. It is also still quite high on an older qualcomm phone. Is there room for improvement with updates or is this the limitation of lower end hardware?

This is a known issue (and has been for over a year), and is pinned on the GitHub. According to the roadmap, this is currently being worked on and is high priority. Hopefully we will see progress on battery optimization in the next major release.

It should also be noted that apparently this isn't an issue on iOS, so it is likely the result of unintended behavior from a bug in the Android app.

Did you set your notification check to instant or interval? Instant wrecked my battery, i set it to 10 min intervals and it barely uses any power now.

Unfortunately 10 minute intervals wouldn't be ideal for my use case.

The battery drain is the only reason I don't use it. Let's hope they give unifiedpush a chance.
