FE dev

install Java

I think you already lost a lot of people there

Will make it click to install when I have the knowledge or resource available. If you know how to convert a jar to installable, please do message me. On the other hand, than installing a backend development environment, installing java is a few clicks. Do you really think FE dev's are incapable of doing it?

Hate that it's Java but I like the idea

Actually we are using Java runtime, but it's actually written in Clojure, a dialect of Lisp, which is far, far away from Java.

Maybe, but I need Java to run it and that has always been a pain in the ass.

Installing Java is few clicks, plus one extra line will give you injee. If things look very difficult, I can make it easy for you https://injee.codeberg.page/#free-support

I'm now considering containers and a adapter package.

[–] mindaslab@lemmy.ml 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Means, you want to make Injee containerized?

[–] scottmeme@sh.itjust.works 1 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Yep, I slap anything into a container, it just might take me a minute to get around to it. Currently out for the country.

Also streamlining installs without needing to install deps

I'm not sure I understand correctly, this is supposed to be accessible from the net? While the RESR API looks really neat lack of any ACL looks like a deal breaker.
