This kills the oxygen generating phytoplankton, and in turn, basically everything larger than a mouse.
I saw this predicted in a GURPS sourcebook ages ago. Once of the Alternate Earths books IIRC.
I liked the idea of gurps but champions/hero system pretty much did the same with less books needing to be bought.
