I really like the idea of having a physical keyboard on my phone. I'm looking at the pinephone with the keyboard module and it looks pretty cool.

You could try one of these: https://support.planetcom.co.uk/index.php/Linux_for_Cosmo

But is seems like Ubuntu Touch support was dropped and their own Linux AFAIK never worked very well.

On a related note, are there any accessories that you can attach to an android phone to give it a keyboard?

Use an usbA to UsbC adapter, then you can plug in any old usb keyboard, not practical if you're planning to bring it with you but i think it's neat that it just works

Can also add a mouse, or use an usb hub to have both mouse and keyboard

@ignotum @cyclohexane
I used the USB A to C adapter and a USB mouse in order to backup data from a phone with broken touch screen. But simultaneous charge was not possible. Would it possible even to connect the charger to the USB hub at 5V source?

Based on this old stackexchange post it was apparently possible but not trivial, it might be easier to do now but i couldn't find anything more recent
