Reminder that Biden and political leaders from both parties claim to have fallen for this. But still aren't funding UNRWA...
President Joe Biden's administration said in January it was temporarily pausing new funding to United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) after Israel accused 12 of the agency's 13,000 employees in Gaza of participating in the deadly Oct. 7 Hamas attack. The U.S. Senate passed legislation last month cutting off funding for the agency, part of a $95 billion bill providing aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan that has stalled in the House of Representativies.
A cynic would say they weren't dumb enough to fall for this, and the reason we're not funding UNRWA now that we know it was bullshit was because they just wanted an excuse to cut off humanitarian aid to Palestine while not hesitating to provide arms to enable a genocide against Lehey Law.
