I'm assuming it'll be for it's ai features or certain parts of the os which can be unlocked for a fee not the entire OS.

All we have are some INI files which suggest subscription status will be tracked

Still hate it personally, but I cannot see them being dumb enough to gate the entire OS behind a paywall so quickly
