I wondered that, too, but it looks like it could just be a regional thing?

On 19 October one person was killed and four were injured by by gunfire at Albany State University in Georgia during its homecoming weekend festivities. A suspect has since been arrested, according to the Georgia bureau of investigation.

That same day, three people were killed and eight were injured in a shooting at a homecoming event on the outskirts of Lexington, Mississippi.

Edit: holy shit, Tennessee State and Albany State are both HBCUs, as is Tuskegee. Not sure what school was in Lexington, Mississippi, but if it's an HBCU also, the FBI might need to get involved.

Historically Black Colleges and Universities for those outside the US/those who didn't know

Considering the results of last week’s election, if the FBI gets involved, I would expect those investigations to be shut down in early January.
