Fediverse vs Disinformation

440 readers
131 users here now

Pointing out, debunking, and spreading awareness about state- and company-sponsored astroturfing on Lemmy and elsewhere. This includes social media manipulation, propaganda, and disinformation campaigns, among others.

Propaganda and disinformation are a big problem on the internet, and the Fediverse is no exception.

What's the difference between misinformation and disinformation? The inadvertent spread of false information is misinformation. Disinformation is the intentional spread of falsehoods.

By equipping yourself with knowledge of current disinformation campaigns by state actors, corporations and their cheerleaders, you will be better able to identify, report and (hopefully) remove content matching known disinformation campaigns.

Seriously, how long do people think he is going to live?

Forever. Dear leader is immortal.

Anybody can do anything, unless someone stops them.

Thank you! I’ve been trying to communicate this to folks in my life that are confused, all the barriers that stopped him from doing whatever he wants are gone. Our only hope is that he just gets bored and is happy to not be going to jail, unfortunately the most despicable people in the world also realized this and are using him to enact their horrific visions on all of us

They're still there, he just proved that they relied heavily on human decency and/or the belief that there would be consequences.

Why do you think he "joked" about people not having to vote again if he won? He doesn't intend to have another election. Rather, he'll just serve another term until he can pass the presidency on to someone else he favours.

He wants a monarchy. If he tries to install anyone, it'll be his rotten kids.

What? Dictator? No way. I'm just holding off on elections because of that explosion in that democratic city(don't worry about who did that) and until we cracked down on all the antifa personal (that happen to be anyone opposing him).

I still have people (in the South) tell me they're so sorry when they learn I live in Seattle.

They are legitimately convinced that the entire city burned down.

Will our constitution last that long?

Why not neither?

I will throw it all away to stop him if he runs again. I physically and mentally cannot take it
