People pretending covid is over or 'just a cold' now is like when people were pretending only gay men can get AIDS in the '80s. But this time, there doesn't seem to be an ACT UP to bully and embarrass health authorities into being serious. Solidarity with the disabled and respect for the precautionary principle are very basic elements of scientific socialism, but many otherwise ardent leftists remain cold, silent, and incurious.
