Anyone else come from a regular Pixel 6 over to a Pixel 8 Pro notice that the games are a bit choppier?

I suppose it's the higher resolution.. but you would think that the increase in processing power would have been in lockstep with the increase in resolution. Or maybe it's something else. Ideas?

Edit: huh, noticing scrolling stuttering here in Lemmy Sync, where I didn't notice it on the Pixel 6 ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Quite possible that's there's a driver optimization that's needed. It'll likely get better with updates.

maybe they didn't optimize the game for the different levels of cores on the Pixel 8

I am also seeing lag when going 'back' in Lemmy using Liftoff app.

Does it feel hot when you notice the choppiness? It could be thermal throttling. Otherwise, as the others have said, maybe it's something that app updates or an update of Android 14 could fix, as it's definitely not normal for it to perform worse than the Pixel 6.

Y'know, I've never felt this phone get hot at all. Whether in-game or otherwise.

It does feel a bit worse than my old phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, but I think it will improve.
