Gonna be interesting to see how the EU plans to reindustrialize given that the energy prices in Europe are far higher than in US or China. There is very little incentive for the capitalists to invest in EU industry since their rate of profit would be lower. Will EU start building out public industry, or will they provide massive subsidies to entice business?

Right, now we just need a European provider for operating systems, office software and cloud services.
Microsoft is currently one of the biggest in this space for governments and businesses. But with Trump effectively canceling the EU-US data privacy framework, Microsoft is probably no longer compliant. Reactions will be slow, but if there is ever a time for a shift in the market, it's probably now.
Therr are big cloud providers but they do not offer the total package. Services such as AWS offer great integration. What Europe might need is a company which bundles together all the existing separate cloud services to easily integrate.
There are a bunch of okay cloud providers in the EU, also Linux vendors, KDE is European, there is potential.
Officials say the aim is to give governments a way to protect important EU sectors from cheaper competitors from China and elsewhere.
“Elsewhere,” the elephant in the room.
Oh no, please don't repeat the great depression
It's not a sudden irrational reaction to a financial collapse; more a strategy to remain autonomous and shield themselves from predatory practices from the US and China
