MODERATORS
Signal is not federated, but I don't know of an alternative. Matrix?
- Matrix, which has some integration with Lemmy and is the default for secure chat amongst users here who need it.
- XMPP, at least one Lemmy instance is also running it's own XMPP instance.
- Sup, which is explicitly pitched as a Fediverse Facebook Messenger replacement. Now Loops is launched and open source, plus dansup will get a bit chunk of funding via Kickstarter (so he can go full-time), it looks like Sup will be the next one off the production line and will be one to watch.
That's embarrassing on their part
Especially considering how little Reddit values their unpaid volunteer work.
Did they give a reason?
They just shadow removed it without reason.
Hmm...
Is there no better option than Signal? Shame.
Must avoid using the "bad" words (like Lemmy, apparently).
I titled the post Social Media Alternatives to be in the clear hehe.
For many of us, Reddit would now be considered "the alternative" to here.:-)
I only use reddit for search results at this point.
I hate that this is often the only thing that works.:-(
